Rosa Regosa
Handprinted by me from 4 handcarved lino blocks, featuring my little boys favourite rose, his ‘Ozzie rose’ which we walk past everyday on the way to nursery. Full of deep magenta colour, loud open petals and bright yellow centres, almost always swarming with bees and surrounded by delicate sets of leaves, and in the winter, enormous rose hips. It is a firm favourite in our home, so I made an everlasting verion for him and us all to enjoy.
Printed on delicate 30gsm Nepalese washi paper, made with the inner bark of Mitsumata and added chopped bamboo leaves. Mitsumata is a native and sustainable plant grown in the Himalayan foothills, and is made into this delicate paper with the dipped and layered Japanese Nagashiziki method. This handmade practice create vaulable and sustainable employment in these areas.
Due to the nature of handprinting, each of my prints is unique and distinct and minor variations may occur.
