Return of the Swallows
Handprinted by me from 6 handcarved linocut blocks. Capturing one of my favourite moments each year, the first sightings of swallows after a long winter. Swooping and diving around new growth and colour.
This handprinted original features 3 swallows flying over bare-branched trees surrounded by a halo of colour, emulating that promise of full summer leaves that swallows bring with them on their return from warmer climates.
Printed on delicate 60gsm handmade Mitsumata Nepalese washi paper. Made with the inner bark fibre of Mitsumata, also known as Argeli, a sustainable and renewable resource grown in Nepal, creating valuable employment for those living in these areas.
Due to the nature of handprinting, each of my prints is unique and distinct and minor variations may occur.
