Occasionally the sun shines here in north Cornwall in the winter, and when it does, boy is it a thing of beauty. Through the window of my studio, the low afternoon winter sun shone over a vase of dried grasses and seed heads in a beautiful bud vase made by my dear friend, which sits on my communal work table made by the fair hands of my little brother and my husband, made from the wood from our own woodland, milled on our friends mill by my own hands!
I stopped to take a picture of this beautiful scene, the absurd long shadows, the rough grain of the table and the soft lines of the pottery, before long I was sketching and this design was born.
