This 3 block multi layer, 8 colour print of the stunning slate harbour walls at the world famous Boscastle Harbour is my most complicated and challenging print to date and took 7 long, but happy, months to finish, using several new techniques it pushed me in ways I’ve never experienced before and I’m so glad I tried to make what was in my head all these months.
The deep ochre lichen on the slate walls, crystal clear trickling water over soft pebble stones, and late summer dried grasses and teasels feature to create a snapshot of the monumental walls that hold tidal floods, stormy seas and gentle summer sun.
Handprinted from 3 individual handcarved Lino blocks, printed in 8 colours on top of each other to create depth, shading and unique texture. Printed on handmade Japanese Ho-sho wood free archival paper measuring 39.5x28cm and the design measures 12x30cm.
From March 2023 you can view this print up close and personal at the wonderful Good Stuff cafe in Boscastle Harbour, I wholeheartedly recommend stopping in for a coffee, cake and lunch, you will not be disappointed!
Due to the handprinted, limited run of these prints small natural variations in colour, texture and paper colour occur, this adds to the value and experience of handprinted art work. Each print will arrive signed and named.
I send my prints carefully rolled in archival acid free tissue paper and waxed paper in strong cardboard tubes to ensure their safe arrival, I do not sell framed work, but if you are local to me in North Cornwall and require framing services please contact me and I can be of assistance.
