It was time for an upgrade! My previous version of this print was so lovely (and a little fiddly to make as it took over 150 different impressions with 20 or so individual stamps...), but I was desperate for a larger version for our own house, so this new large version came into existence!
Carefully carved from 2 large blocks of lino and handprinted with 13 different colours onto handmade Japanese sustainable Bamboo paper, these 11x15inch prints will make a beautiful impact to any room!
After I carved the blocks, myself and my very helpful husband print each print by hand, in a slightly chaotic dance to apply 12 different coloured pigment based, lightfast ink pad inks onto one block before the first ink dries! Safe to say, we had a laugh printing our first few!
The final layer is printed densely pigmented, archival quality ink with a more eco-sensitive oil based ink, which uses vegetable inks rather than crude oil so can be cleaned up safely with Ecover washing up liquid.
Each print measures 11x15inches/28x28cm, which is just slightly smaller than A3 Perfect for float mounting in a standard A3 Frame. The bamboo paper is beautifully soft and strong, slightly transparent and gently textured to highlight the complex design.
This print will arrive carefully rolled in Acid-free tissue paper, in a strong cardboard tube. Please unroll in advance of framing and allow to fall back to shape under gentle pressure of a few books if possible. Every print arrives signed and editioned.
