Sitting in our over grown, wild garden the sheer number of varieties of grasses hit me with pure joy, so simple, so overlooked and so beautiful! I picked a great big handful of them to sketch and the rest they say is history. 12 hours of carving later I was finally printing this new block.
Handburnished in a warm golden lavender colour matched to the inner stem colour of the grasses as the turn from green to gold, onto stunning 30gsm very very lightweight Nepalese bamboo washi paper with visable flecks of green bamboo fibre on stunning pale golden background.
Each print has a delicate hand torn fluffy edge to highlight the paper, which would look beautiful float mounted, and measures 39x59cm, around the same size as A2, (4 regular sheets of A4 paper). This larger scale print would be perfect to take pride of place in any room!
Printed in eco-friendly, light fast, archival quality ink ink. Each print is handprinted with only a wooden spoon and a lot of determination, this technique and unique handmade paper creates a beautiful finish and means each print is unique and may have small differences and quirks.
Your print will arrive carefully packaged in acid free tissue paper, rolled inside a rigid cardboard tube. No plastic here!
Please carefully unroll your print and lay it to gently flatten on a flat, clean surface, if needed place the tissue paper on top and weight down with a few books over night. Avoid rolling in the opposite direction to flatten as I’ve found this a reliable way to get your print flat but dented, learnt that the hard way!
